    Ross, ex-VK1UN/VK8UN, 4W6UN and EX1UN, is now active as T61AA from Faizabad for
    possibly 2 years. Reports indicate that he has been on 20 meters SSB
    (PLEASE SEND QSNs). It has also been reported by Mike, K6MYC, that Ross is
    expected to be active soon on 6/2 meters EME from Afghanistan (MM57). He is
    using an IC-7000 into a Tokyo Hi-Power HL-1.5KFx Amp for HF/6m and also a new
    Acom for HF/6m. Ross is currently using a 2x8 element antenna on 2 meters but
    plans to increase the size as weather premits. His operations are good for DXCC.

    Six members of the Texas DX Society, WF5W, W5PF, K5WAF, NM5G, W5PR and N4AL
    will be operate from San Andres Island from March 1st to March 6th. This is
    IOTA NA-033. They will have two stations on the air - using a beam and
    vertical antenna. They will take part in the ARRL SSB DX contest on March
    01 - 02 using  the callsign 5J0E.                             QSL via W5PF.
    San Andres has been activated many times before, but still remains a needed
    location for many amateurs, especially outside North America.
    In 1928 Colombia and Nicaragua signed the Esguerra-Bбrcenas treaty, which
    gave control of the islands to Colombia, even though the island is closer
    to Nicaragua.
    The population of the island is about 60,000 people. Of these about 57% are
    Raizals and the remainder are Hispanic.

NA-180   Art Phillips,NN7A, is working from another island in Belize as V31JZ/p
    namely South Water Caye(NA-180). Art is also running 100 watts mostly in CW and
    some SSB on the IOTA frequencies on 160-10m from Feb 22-26. This will be his
    seventh activity of this kind from a coral island only using a solar panel and

   Bernhard, DL2GAC will be QRV as H44MS from Honiara, IOTA OC-047, from March 5

OC-164 Rottnest Island
   Operator John,VK6HZ,will be active as VK6ARI from Rottnest Island (WLOTA LH-2197),
   March 27 to April-3rd. This will be a holiday style operation using an IC-7000 on
   SSB, PSK and RTTY, possibly CW. Antenna will be a Buddipole. Activity will be
   around the usual IOTA frequencies.He will also be active during the CQWW WPX SSB C

 Clipperton DXpedition 'live' on the web
It’s a DXpedition that you will be able to take part in, at least vicariously.
This with news that the upcoming TX5C DXpedition expects to be active from
Clipperton Island March 7th to March 17th, has arranged to bring much of its
operation into your shack over the World Wide Web.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of satellite phone dealer Outfitter Satellite
Inc, the TX5C operation will be able to provide DX'ers with rich, high-bandwidth
content from the DXpedition including more online log updates, webcams and live
video from Clipperton Atoll.
Bob Grimmick, N6OX, will lead the international team to Clipperton.
The major sponsors include Icom America, SteppIR antennas, Alpha Radio Products,
the Northern California DX Foundation, and the International DX Association.
Operation will be on all the high frequency bands using C-W, SSB and RTTY plus
6 meter CW and SSB.
This happens to be the 30th anniversary of the 1978 FO0XA-XH operation from
the atoll and the goal in 2008 is to hold 100,000 or QSO's worldwide.

countries have already acknowledged its independence. The DXCC Desk writes that
the Kosovo is not a member of the UN nor has an own prefix block been allocated
to it by the ITU yet. So the counter still stands at 338 DXCC entities.
 Shack for hire in Brunei
Ambran,V85SS, announced that his newly built DX station ("Tungku Lodge")
can be rented by DXpeditions, for contests and by travelling HAMs. The lodge
consists of a bungalow, which is situated next to his house, 10 minutes
from the airport. The shack is equipped with a Mosley TA-53-M on top of
12m tower, verticals for 80-10m and a dipole for 160m. For your personal
needs there are three beds, a small kitchen and a shower. More information

Tom, KC0W, who moved to St. Helena Island in early September and has been active
as ZD7X, has been given permission by the Tristan da Cunha government to visit
Tristan for an extended stay. He is expected to leave St. Helena sometime in late
April. So, Tristan will be his next DX location. Tom hopes to operate from Tristan
for a period of 4-6 months and plans to be VERY active from Tristan as he was from
St. Helena. He states, "My next planned DX locations after Tristan will be the
three islands of South Sandwich, South Orkney and South Georgia. My goal is to
activate each island for at least two weeks straight. This three island DXpedition
is in the planning stages right now. I hope to stage this whole operation out of
the Falkland Islands."

 Czech Republic now QRV on 70 MHz
Radio amateurs in the Czech Republic are now permitted to transmit on 70 MHz.
The licensing conditions are: 70,2-70,3 MHz, 10 W ERP and the temporary licenses are
valid until 2008-12-31.

to get it!

HQ8R Swan Islands 2008 DXpedition is the brainchild of HR2J Javier He came up with
the original idea of activating the islands and has received the support of Radio Club
de Honduras and its members in this adventure. We plan on using this site,
http://www.hondurasdx.com/ to share information, raise funds and promote DX and ham
radio in general. We are looking for 10 operators to be able to work two PHONE stations,
one CW and one RTTY/PSK31 station + one EME station with 1.5 Kilowatts (total of five
stations) from 160 to 6 meter + 2 meter EME. Every licensed ham around the world is
welcomed to join the HQ8R DX team. Cost per participant is around 700 US dollars,
this will include meals and transportation from San Pedro Sula to the island and back
to San Pedro Sula. We are planning to depart from port of Castilla Naval station in
Trujillo bay on March 15th returning on March 23rd on a 85 foot Honduran Navy vessel
with comfortable air conditioned accommodations. We will have a HughesNet high speed
internet satellite system to upload logs, photos and videos into the Website. Iota is
NA-035 and grid is EK87.
